The website does not define a more detailed boundary than North East England. If your organisation is uncertain whether its location or reach fits, ask before preparing a full enquiry.
Make the geography useful
Name the places where activity happens and explain how people reach it. If the work spans several towns or local authority areas, show where the need and delivery are concentrated.
National organisations should be specific about their local presence, partnerships and the portion of the proposed work that directly benefits the region.
Local understanding
A good enquiry shows what the organisation has learned through its work and relationships. It does not need to present an exhaustive area profile; it should connect local context to a credible response.
