Read the relevant pages
Review the focus-area page that best fits your work and the appropriate regional page. For church restoration, use the separate specialist guidance.
Make a note of anything that remains uncertain so your first contact can ask a focused question.
Choose the right piece of work
Do not try to describe everything the organisation does. Identify the activity or need most relevant to the Trust and explain how it connects to your wider purpose.
If the request is still at idea stage, be honest about what has and has not been decided.
Protect people’s information
Do not send names, detailed histories or sensitive documents about beneficiaries in an initial email. Describe patterns of need and the organisation’s response without exposing individuals.
